AT|LAST exists so inventors can protect their ideas. That only works if your idea is safe with us - so this policy is written plainly, and where we make a claim about how your data is handled, it describes how the system is actually built, not an aspiration.
Your invention descriptions are used for exactly one purpose: producing your deliverables. Generation is performed using Anthropic's AI models as a processor - your description is sent to that service to draft your documents, and our novelty search queries patent data sources (Google Patents data and the USPTO Open Data Portal) using search terms derived from your description. We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use your invention descriptions to train models of our own.
Your invention text never enters our server logs. Our logs record lengths, counts, timestamps, and categories - never the words of your description. This rule is enforced by an automated check in our development process that fails any code change that would put user text into a log line.
One narrow exception exists for refused content: if a message is blocked by our safety filter (which screens only for security-evasion and explosive-device requests), we keep an audit record containing the time, your account id, which rule matched, the message length, and a one-way cryptographic fingerprint of the message - not the message itself. The fingerprint cannot be reversed into your words; it can only confirm a match if the original text is later presented to us.
Like any responsible service, our infrastructure keeps backups for disaster recovery. Automated backups expire on a fixed schedule. We also take manual snapshots at significant moments - for example, as a safeguard before infrastructure maintenance - and those remain until we delete them. Deleted data can therefore persist inside a backup until it expires, or inside a snapshot until that snapshot is deleted. Backups and snapshots are never used for any purpose other than restoring the service.
Only the processors needed to run the platform: Clerk (sign-in), Stripe (payments), Amazon Web Services (hosting), Anthropic (AI generation), and patent data sources for the novelty search. Each receives only what its role requires. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone. We may disclose information if legally required, and we will tell you if the law allows us to.
You can download your deliverables at any time during their availability window, reset a design (which deletes its files), or contact us to ask what we hold about your account or to request deletion of it: [email protected].
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it, and material changes will be highlighted on the platform before they take effect.
